Richard Prince

«The Barefoot Bandit» was the nickname given to a young American thief who, in his stealthy boldness, left a signaturelike foot impression at the places he robed, drawing a cartoon footprint as his mark. Richard Prince appropriated this joke signature and turned it into a sticker, which we transformed into this silkscreen. Its title, Behind, possibly refers to something left behind, but also brings to mind a peculiar kind of American code about being left behind on purpose.
